About the Artist
2020 has been a year of massive change for everyone. For me, it meant a 3000 mile move from New York, where I've lived for 40 years, to California, where I grew up and graduated from art school. While the move has stretched the distance between me and my painting group, my art community, and my exhibition venues, my goal is to keep these connections strong while I build an artistic life on the Monterey Peninsula. Over the decades, I have never left the imagery that has always inspired me: mountains, forests, the seacoast, and especially water, in all its forms, the basis of life. I work mostly in pastels and love the immediacy of its rich true pigments and the layering of color, so true to nature, so authentic.
